G150

Gulfstream has selected Garmin International automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) solution for its G150 business aircraft.

The solution comprises Garmin GTX 3000 Mode S Extended Squitter remote transponder and GDL 88 ADS-B datalink.

Garmin aviation sales and marketing vice-president Carl Wolf said: "Garmin’s expertise and extensive product line of certified ADS-B solutions allowed us to work quickly with Gulfstream to bring this solution to market."

"The new solution will provide owners and operators with the benefits of ADS-B without the need for flight management systems or cockpit display upgrades."

The ADS-B upgrade with GTX 3000 and GDL 88 is claimed to allow business aircraft to comply with the global air traffic modernisation initiatives, while offering an enhanced level of visibility to other operators.

The GDL 88 capability to provide WAAS/SBAS position information will facilitate the GTX 3000 to broadcast position information to air traffic control, thereby ensuring visibility to all ADS-B In-equipped aircraft.

The new solution will provide owners and operators with the benefits of ADS-B without the need for flight management systems or cockpit display upgrades, Garmin said.

Gulfstream is offering the installation of the GTX 3000 and GDL 88 ADS-B suite on the G150 at its service centre in Dallas, Texas, US.

Powered by Honeywell TFE731-40AR engines, the G150 aircraft has a maximum range of 5,556km at Mach 0.75 and can accommodate up to eight passengers.
