China Southern Airlines has signed a deal with AerCap Holdings to lease 24 Airbus A320neo aircraft.

Under the deal, the PW1100G-JM engines-powered A320/A321neos will be leased to China Southern between 2016 and 2019.

China Southern CEO Tan Wangeng said: "This transaction has enabled us to renew our fleet and add the most modern and fuel-efficient aircraft.

"We look forward to continuing our cooperation with AerCap for the mutual benefit of both companies."

China Southern operates a fleet of more than 500 aircraft and serves 193 cities in 30 countries.

"AerCap has now leased 71 A320neo aircraft, delivering through 2019."

AerCap has so far leased 40 A320 family aircraft, five Boeing 737-800s and four Boeing 737-700s to China Southern.

AerCap CEO Aengus Kelly said: "AerCap has now leased 71 A320neo aircraft, delivering through 2019.

"This impressive result is due to the power of the AerCap platform and the state-of-the-art technology of the A320neo."

AerCap’s after-market subsidiary, AeroTurbine, has signed a deal with China Southern to buy four older vintage aircraft, which will be disassembled and parted-out.

In July 2014, AerCap arranged an order with Airbus for 50 A320neo family aircraft, bringing its total order of A320neo aircraft to 200.

AerCap provides fleet solutions to more than 200 customers in 90 countries, and part-out and engine leasing services through AeroTurbine.
