Sukhoi Superjet 100

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCAC) has delivered the sixth Superjet 100 MSN 95013 to Aeroflot after receiving type certification from European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

After delivery, the aircraft will begin commercial operation on Aeroflot’s domestic and international route network.

EASA recently issued the Type Certificate A-176 for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (RRJ-95B), recognising that the aircraft meets the airworthiness and environmental requirements of EASA.

The certification marks the Superjet as the first Russian passenger jet being certified according to EASA CS-25.

The validation will act as a reference standard for European airlines and other airlines serving in countries to accept and operate the SSJ100 (RRJ-95B) aircraft.

Superjet 100 (SSJ100) is a 100-seat regional jet jointly designed, and built by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) and Alenia Aermacchi.

The aircraft has a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.81 and 40,000ft with the operating range for the basic version as 3,048km and 4,578km for the long-range version.

SCAC delivered its first aircraft to Armavia airlines (Armenia) which will also take the delivery of its second aircraft in April 2012.

Sukhoi is planning to deliver 20 Superjets worth $35.4m each this year, which comprises ten aircraft to foreign customers, including four to Interjet, three to Laos Central Airlines and three to PT Sky Aviation, while the remaining ten will be delivered to Aeroflot and Armenia’s Armavia.

Currently, there are six SSJ100 aircraft being operated by Armavia and Aeroflot.
